Windhorse Artisans

Hello, we're Windhorse Artisans and we create beautiful things for you.

We make jewelry, talismans, travel charms, organic assemblages, sacred objects, and other things that bring a smile to your face.

The Wind Horse is an allegory for the human soul in the shamanistic traditions of Tibet, and that resonates with us. The Wind Horses figures as a sign of uplifting energy that carries good fortune to all beings. Freedom, spirit, sense of oneness, energy, passion, inspirer — all words associated with Wind Horse.

We chose the name Windhorse Artisans because we create most of our work when we're moved by spirit, or by the energy of a particular stone or other organic material. We like to keep things on an intimate scale, and work in a state of bliss rather than a frenzy of production. We believe you can tell when you encounter one of our pieces -- the soul of the material has been honored, so there's a special kind of resonance.

Where to get your Windhorse Artisans pieces

Luckily, you can get our pieces shipped to you anywhere in the world. If you're in the Baltimore area, we may be able to deliver your piece in person, or meet at one of our favorite cafés (like Mystickal Voyage)

You can check out our currently-available pieces on our Etsy shop here, and you can check out our CafePress shop here.

Our CafePress shop has oodles of shiny objects that we've designed, t-shirts, clocks, bumper stickers, and yes! Even the fabulous SQUEE car decals!)

Where we get our copper

We reclaim somewhere around 99.936% of the copper wire we use in our work. Most of it is from the scraps left over from air conditioner installations and requires careful removal from the plastic casing surrounding it. It's a time-consuming and slightly dangerous process that requires one's full attention (since cutting the plastic can be tricky), but there's also a zen-like stillness to the process. We have a few pictures of what the process looks like in our PhotoBucket albums if you're curious.
